Since beginning my career as an Architect many years ago, and over the course of the last twenty years, I have been involved in the development of over 1,350 residential units in New York City and the outer boroughs – valued at over 1.2 billion dollars (give or take).
Mortar Group was created in my search to understand the Architect as Developer dynamic. While the business model has evolved and matured over the years, we became more than an Architect as Developer.
Mortar grew in to a vertically integrated organization (by the way – this is where the Vertical Architect name comes from), growing past just these two disciplines, but also becoming investment managers, construction administrators, a trusted source for individuals looking to invest capital, and property managers.
Our focus and specialty has become the incorporation of all these disciplines into sub-institutional + mid-market multifamily in New York.
